The AOSSPL Snake Catching Stick 4FT is a professional snake handling tool engineered for safe, controlled capture and relocation of snakes. Unlike a hook which cradles the snake's body, the stick features a controlled-grip mechanism to hold the snake firmly at a safe distance, minimising the risk of escape or bite during handling. Lightweight and easy to operate, it is suited for snake rescuers, wildlife professionals, agricultural workers, and industrial safety teams operating in high-risk snake environments. Available in 4FT and 6FT lengths.

Why Choose AOSSPL Snake Catching Stick 4FT?

Controlled Grip for Secure HandlingThe stick's grip mechanism securely holds the snake during transfer, reducing the risk of the snake escaping or twisting back to strike compared to open-hook designs.
4FT Safe Working DistanceFour feet of standoff between the handler's hand and the snake ensures safety from venomous species' strike range during capture and relocation.
Lightweight & Easy to HandleDespite the extended length, the stick is designed to be lightweight so handlers can operate it single-handedly without fatigue during field operations.
Soft Grip HandleThe ergonomic soft-grip handle provides firm, slip-free control in all weather conditions — wet hands, muddy gloves, or warm field environments.
Strong & Built to LastEngineered from durable materials to withstand repeated use and the weight and strength of various snake species encountered in Indian field conditions.
Available in 4FT & 6FTChoose the 4FT for standard field operations, or the 6FT for situations demanding maximum standoff distance such as large pit vipers, pythons, or king cobras.

How to Use – Safe Operating Steps

  • Step 1 — Locate & Assess: Identify the snake's species and position if possible. Approach slowly from behind, keeping the stick extended and ready before getting within the snake's awareness range.
  • Step 2 — Position the Stick: Position the grip end of the stick gently near the snake's body, approximately behind the head, to prepare for controlled capture.
  • Step 3 — Secure the Grip: Engage the grip mechanism to secure the snake firmly but without excessive pressure. The hold should be firm enough to prevent escape but not harm the animal.
  • Step 4 — Transfer to Bag: With the snake securely held, direct it into an open snake rescue bag held by a second operator, or use a single-handed bag-opening technique with the bag secured on the ground.
  • Step 5 — Release Safely: At the designated release point, open the bag carefully and allow the snake to exit on its own. Do not attempt to remove a snake from the bag with bare hands.

Storage & Maintenance

  • Store horizontally or hang vertically in a cool, dry location. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or moisture which may degrade materials over time.
  • Clean the grip mechanism and shaft after each use. Inspect for bending, wear, or functional issues with the grip before each deployment.
  • Lubricate the grip mechanism periodically if recommended by the product manual to ensure smooth and reliable operation during emergencies.
