How to Use — First Aid Steps

  • Step 1 — Calm the Casualty: Keep the victim calm and still. Movement accelerates venom spread through the lymphatic system. Use the marker pen to circle and time the bite mark on the skin.
  • Step 2 — Apply Suction: Use the lancet to make a small incision over the bite site if safe to do so, then apply the suction pump and suction cups to draw out venom from the wound.
  • Step 3 — Wound Care: Clean the area with wound cleaning wipes and Povidone/BZK antiseptic wipes. Apply a sterilised dressing and secure with bandaging.
  • Step 4 — Immobilise the Limb: Use the snake bite splint and triangular bandage to immobilise the affected limb below the level of the heart, slowing venom absorption.
  • Step 5 — Apply Tourniquet if Required: In severe cases with rapid swelling, apply the tourniquet as directed in the user manual. Record the time of application.
  • Step 6 — Seek Medical Help: Transport the casualty to hospital immediately. The kit extends survival time — it does not replace anti-venom treatment.

Storage & Shelf Life

📦
Storage ConditionsStore in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, extreme heat, and humidity. The HDPE container offers built-in protection against moisture and physical damage.
📅
Shelf LifeKit contents have a shelf life of 2–3 years from the date of manufacture. Check expiry dates on individual consumable items regularly and replace as needed.
🔍
Periodic InspectionInspect the kit every 6 months. Verify that sterilised dressings, wipes, and gloves are intact and within expiry. Replace expired or used items promptly.
After UseImmediately restock any used items after deployment. Never store a partially used or depleted kit — it may give a false sense of preparedness during the next emergency.
