How to Use – Safe Operating Steps
- Step 1 — Approach Calmly: Approach the snake from behind or from the side slowly and without sudden movement. The 4FT length allows safe approach even with venomous species.
- Step 2 — Position the Hook: Slide the hook gently beneath the snake's body roughly one-third of the length from the tail to evenly balance its weight during lifting.
- Step 3 — Lift Steadily: Lift slowly and steadily, keeping the snake's head pointed away and downward. Use a second hook to support longer or heavier snakes if needed.
- Step 4 — Transfer to Bag: Guide the snake into a secure snake rescue bag, keeping the head directed into the bag first. Seal immediately after the tail enters.
- Step 5 — Relocate Safely: Transport the secured snake to a designated release point away from habitation and open the bag from a distance at the release site.
Storage & Maintenance
- Store horizontally in a dry, shaded location. Avoid leaning the hook against walls for extended periods, which may cause bending over time.
- Clean with a damp cloth after field use. Inspect the hook tip, shaft, and grip regularly for wear, corrosion, or damage before deployment.
