How to Use — Spill Response Steps
- Step 1 — Assess & Secure: Identify the spilled liquid and assess the risk. Put on the included nitrile gloves and safety goggles before approaching the spill area. Warn others and isolate the zone if necessary.
- Step 2 — Stop the Source: If safe to do so, stop or reduce the flow of the spill at its source before attempting cleanup. This prevents the spill area from expanding.
- Step 3 — Place Absorbent Sock: Lay the absorbent sock around the perimeter of the spill to contain it and prevent it from spreading to drains or wider areas.
- Step 4 — Apply Absorbent Pads: Place absorbent pads directly onto the spill and allow them to soak up the liquid. Use additional pads as needed, working from the outside of the spill inward.
- Step 5 — Collect & Bag Waste: Once the spill is fully absorbed, carefully collect all used absorbents and place them into the disposable bags provided. Seal the bags securely with the ties.
- Step 6 — Dispose Correctly: Dispose of the sealed waste bags in accordance with local regulations for the type of liquid absorbed. Restock the kit immediately after use.
